About the ACVVS
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a national initiative funded by the Australian Government's Department of Health and Aged Care. This program aims to enrich the quality of life for older individuals who are socially isolated or lonely by providing regular companionship through volunteer visits.

Our role at TNC
At TNC, we are proud to coordinate the ACVVS in our local community. Our dedicated team recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who visit residents in local aged care facilities. These visits foster genuine friendships and provide much-needed social interaction for our elderly community members.

Become a volunteer visitor
Volunteering as a visitor is a rewarding experience that makes a significant difference in the lives of older Australians. As a volunteer, you'll commit to visiting a resident weekly or at least once a fortnight. Activities during visits can include:
- Chatting and sharing stories
- Listening to music
- Playing cards or board games
- Reading together
